Chronicle Volume 1968

1968 was a year of upheaval. More than any other year, it left its mark on the recent history of the 20th century and ultimately became synonymous with an entire generation that questioned the political, economic and cultural self-image of the post-war period. Not least for this reason, this year marks a profound turning point in the relationship between the generations - and not only in the Federal Republic. The society of the economic miracle, which complacently denied its conflicts in its regained prosperity, was caught unprepared by the rebellion of the younger generation.
