In 1969, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins made history by becoming the first people to walk on the moon. Armstrong, who famously took the first step, later taught as a professor in his native state of Ohio. This 50-states program note features his portrait, a photo he took of Aldrin on the moon, the Cincinnati skyline, the Columbia module, the Eagle lunar module, Ohio's motto "With God, all things are possible" and the year of its admission to the union. Because the Wright brothers were from Ohio, the state is also called the "Birthplace of Aviation."
