Souvenir note 100 Dollar Oklahoma - Land of the Red People

Maria Tallchief became world famous as America's first prima ballerina with her performances of "The Firebird" (1949) and "The Nutcracker" (1954). She was also a member of the Osage tribe and one of Oklahoma's internationally known "Five Moons" - five successful ballet dancers of indigenous descent. This note from the 50 US states program features Maria Tallchief, the silhouette of the "Golden Driller" statue in Tulsa, the skyline of Oklahoma City, the state motto "Oklahoma - In God We Trust!" and the year of admission into the union. The name "Oklahoma" comes from the Choctaw language and means something like "red people".
