Born in Philadelphia, Grace Kelly was one of the most successful actresses of the 1950s and won an Oscar for "A Country Girl" (1954), among other things. She became Princess of Monaco in 1956 when she married Rainier III. This note from the 50 US states program features Grace Kelly, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, a map of Pennsylvania with a keystone symbol, the state motto "Virtue, Liberty, and Independence" and the year of its admission to the union. For its crucial role in the founding of the USA, Pennsylvania is also called the "Keystone State" in reference to the keystone of a vault.
